What
is it?
A dynamic and skilful professional bodywork technique, which aims to reintegrate
the body as a whole. To reorganise the musculature of the body to obtain lasting
relief from pain and dysfunction and increase energy levels.
Why?
The treatment comprises of sequences of specialised moves on the body, cross-fibre
manoeuvring of muscle, tendon, ligament or nerve, using varying pressure
carried out in a very specific and systematic manner.
What
is it ideal for?
Neck problems including whiplash
Headaches including migraine
Back problems
Leg problems including hamstrings, knees and ankles
Accident injuries (acute and chronic)
Sports injuries (acute and chronic)
Digestive
and bowel problems
Respiratory problems including asthma
Menstrual and menopausal disorders
Acute and chronic fatigue
Stress conditions and emotional depression
Structure
Governs Function:
The main aim of the Neurostructural Integration Technique® is
to remove pain and dysfunctional physiological and psychological conditions
by restoring the structural integrity of the body. Essentially, if every muscle
in the body is in its correct position i.e. in homeostasis, then all of the
other systems will be in homeostasis as a reciprocal consequence and health
will abound.
What
is NST?
The NST employs a series of very
gentle but specific moves, which are carried out in a pre-determined and systematic
manner.
How
NST works
Initially the body responds to these moves by becoming extremely relaxed. This
relaxation creates a temporary contextual shift in structural status, providing
a window of opportunity for various, spinal, somatic, cranial and autonomic
reflexes to be activated, thereby bringing about a comprehensive resetting
of the whole body. During this process of 'resetting', the body attempts to
return to its optimal structural position within the given context set by the
individual recipient's 'state of health', and in doing so sets in motion very
powerful corrective energy flows that have an extremely beneficial therapeutic
effect on the body and mind. Consequently, the lymphatic system is stimulated;
venous and arterial blood flow enhanced and the whole corrective tissue system
activated.
In addition to this whole body 'resetting' response that takes place, corrective energy flows can be directed into specific areas of the body where there is either pain or dysfunction.
